allows you to set
whichever parameter you want to control; the other is calculated automatically.
Remember that in Free Run mode, data is collected even when the system is not
moving, so proper data collection relies on the operator moving the system at a
consistent speed. Positioning this way is reasonably accurate, but not very precise
because the system movement speed usually varies. It is a best practice to have a
secondary means of positioning the data, for example, a GPS or adding
(7.1.10) at
known positions along the survey line. This way, the data can be
rubberbanded
in post-
processing software. Note a grid cannot be collected in Free Run mode.
