Removing the PTT unit
When removing the PTT unit with the
power unit installed, make sure to sus-
pend the outboard motor.
1. Tilt the swivel bracket to the fully up posi-
tion, and then support it with the stopper
knob

2. Remove the plastic ties 2 .
3. Remove the ground lead terminals 3
and 4 and anode 5 (except high thrust
model).
4. Remove the lower mount shaft 6 .
5. Remove the E-clips

, and then remove
the upper mount shaft

Checking the PTT anode (except
high thrust model)
1. Check the anode. Replace if eroded.
Clean if there is grease, oil, or scales.
NOTICE: Do not apply grease, oil, or
paint to the anode.
Installing the PTT unit
1. Install the bushings 1 , 2 , 3 , and 4 .
2. Install the PTT unit 5 and upper mount
shaft 6 , and then install the E-clips 7 .
3. Install the lower mount shaft 8 .
