Chapter 5 

Tool 

5.1 Overview 

This chapter describes various tools which can be started from the printer driver. 

These tools can be started from the [Tool] window of the [Properties] dialog. It is also 

possible to go to another tool from the tool panel at the top of the window displayed after 

starting a tool. 

The following types of tool are provided: 

Information : 

Displays the information of the printer. 

Memory Switch 

:  Sets the memory switch. 

Log : 

Sets the log output of the printer driver. 

Test Print 

:  Performs the test print with arbitrary content 

NV Image 

:  Edits and registers the image to be used as the logo or watermark, 

or manages the registered NV images. 

Codepage : 

Edits and registers the font data that the user can register, or 

manages the registered codepages. 

Other : 

Exports the printer driver setting to a file, or imports an exported file.

 

 To use all functions of the various tools, log on to the computer with administrator 

privileges is required. 

 When [Enable bidirectional support] is not selected in "4.4 Port", these tools cannot be 

started. 

 No operation is available in the [Properties] dialog while any tool is running.
