3.1. remove the suspension unit from the vehicle following the procedure set out by the vehicle manufacturer.
3.2.
using a suitable spring compressor, carefully follow the manufacturer’s instructions and taking care to adhere to all the
safety precautions, compress the spring taking the pressure from the mounting plate.
3.3. select the appropriate adaptor(s) from the kit for the vehicle application.
3.4. the larger socket type adaptors fit onto the strut retaining nut attached to the strut top. Place the appropriate adaptor
on the nut and hold it in place with a 19mm spanner for the 14 to 17mm sockets or 22mm spanner for the 18 to 27mm
sockets.
3.5. the smaller adaptors fit onto the top of the central shock absorber strut (through the hole in the socket type adaptor)
and prevent it from turning.
3.6. Hold the smaller adaptor steady using a 10mm spanner or socket and exert pressure on the strut retaining nut.
3.7. Make a note of, or lay out in sequence, the various washers etc. as they are removed from the suspension unit.
3.8. re-assembly is a reversal of the above procedures.

tools in good condition. replace damaged parts.
Use genuine parts only.
Keep the work area clean, uncluttered and ensure there is adequate lighting.
Maintain correct balance and footing. ensure the floor is not slippery and wear non-slip shoes.
remove ill fitting clothes. remove ties, watches, rings and other loose jewellery. contain and/or tie back long hair.
Wear appropriate protective clothing (PPe).
When not in use clean and store the tools in the carrying case.
ensure that the vehicle you are working on is properly supported on axle stands or a hoist.
closely adhere to all manufacturers safety instructions issued with the spring compressor.
