SCROOSERs that are often or always left outdoors can also become worn more quickly due to
the effects of the weather. Regular care and maintenance will increase a SCROOSER’s service life.
Please note that the parts listed in the following sections (brake pads, tires, etc.) need to be replaced
if they exceed their wear limit.

After a certain period of time, screws (including the screws on the motor), nuts and mounting
components can come loose due to stresses and vibrations. For this reason, we recommend
regularly checking that these parts are firmly secured, and retightening them if necessary.

Your SCROOSER is fitted with a hydraulic brake on the front wheel. The brake automatically adjusts
for increased slack caused by wear to the brake pads. The brake pads and discs need to be checked
from time to time. If the pads or discs become worn out, they need to be replaced. Contact a
SCROOSER service partner to arrange this. After riding in the rain, you may sometimes hear a very
loud squeaking sound when braking. If that happens, engage the front brake several times while
riding the SCROOSER. The squeaking sound should then stop.

The rear brake is a mechanical disc brake that is engaged using the pedal. If you push down on
the pedal very forcefully, the rear wheel can lock and the SCROOSER may skid, depending on the
surface.

If the brake pads or discs are coated or smeared with dirt or residues of cleaning products, this can
impair braking performance!

The manufacturer’s warranty does not cover work to adjust the brakes!

The brakes on the SCROOSER (a hydraulic disc brake on the front, a mechanical disc brake at the
rear) are largely maintenance-free. The brakes are set ex works to achieve the legally required
braking deceleration values. Please check the wear of the brake pads and the brake disc at regular
intervals. If necessary, look for a specialist.

Worn-out brake pads and discs are a potential source of accidents.

The brake lever must always be mounted firmly on the handlebar without twisting. If the brake lever
is loose, tighten it immediately (risk of accidents!).

Clean your SCROOSER regularly with a damp cloth (not a pressure washer!), using suitable
cleaning products if necessary. Rub the SCROOSER down with a dry cloth afterwards. Use paint
preservatives/car care products to preserve the paintwork. Do NOT use petroleum-based solvents,
trichloroethylene or highly alkaline cleaning products, as they can dull the paintwork and are bad for
the environment.

Remove flash rust (which can form on metallic parts, especially screws, or even on the paintwork)
immediately after it appears to prevent the formation of further rust. In areas where there is a higher
concentration of salt in the air, the SCROOSER should be cleaned at more regular intervals and
coated with a film of oil to protect the materials from corrosion.

The saddle should only be cleaned with water and standard all-purpose cleaners.

If the SCROOSER is not going to be used for a prolonged period, in order to protect the tires it is
better to store the SCROOSER suspended above the ground. Protect the tires from heat to prevent
the formation of cracks. Silicone rubber spray can also help prevent the tires from drying out. Clean
the tires before spraying! Care required: do not spray the brakes!
