NOTE:  Manual  Stations  and/or  Handlers  may  be  freely  moved  from  one  station  to 
another  as  long  as  the  Device  Cable  and  Control  Cable  are  moved  as  a  pair.    The 
system will not function properly if, for example, the device cable from station 1 and 
the control cable from station 2 are moved to station  

12.3 Operation 

The  5000  Series  Tester  with  the  Multiplex  Adaptor  operates  exactly  as  the  5000 
Series Tester except as follows: 

 

The  5000  Series  Tester  front  panel  “Remote/Local”  switch  must  be  in  the 
“Remote” position”. 

  The  STI  5000  Series  Interface  (PCW)  software  must  be  set  to  Multiplex 

mode (“Runtime” – “Multiplex”).  The menu item will be checked if Multiplex 
mode selected. 

  The  test  program  for  each  Multiplex  Station  must  be  sent  individually  (the 

“Station Select” box will be activated when Send is activated. 

 
Each 

Multiplex  Station  has  its  own  “Exact  Value/Lot  Summary”  window  and  is 

controlled from the PC via this window. 

12.4 Self-Test of the Multiplex System 

 

  Remove the Multiplex Adaptor Device Cable from the front panel of the 5000 

Series Tester. 

  Run the 5000 Series Tester mainframe self-test. 

  Re-install  the  Multiplex  Adaptor  Device  cable  to  the  front  panel  of  the  5000 

Series Tester and confirm that all cables from the 5000 Series Tester to the 
Multiplex Adaptor are connected correctly. 

  Remove  the  Station  Device  cables  from  the  rear  panel  of  the  Multiplex 

Adaptor. 

  Install  the  supplied  Multiplex  Self-Test  Fixture  into  the  Multiplex  Station  1 

device connector. 

  Run the Multiplex Self-Test for Multiplex Station 1.
