The  High  Current  Deck  device  terminals  can  now  be  attached  to  the  device  under 
test.    The  front  panel  will  accept  a  standard  STI  fixture  for  use  with  devices  whose 
anode  (collector)  current  does  not  exceed  approximately  100  amps.    For  higher 
current  devices,  high  current  Anode  (collector)  and  Cathode  (emitter)  terminals  are 
provided.    When  these  terminals  are  used,  attach  the  A

  leads 

individually  to  the  terminals  into  which  the  standard  STI  fixture  attaches.    Make  the 
high current leads to the device under test as short as possible. 
 
NOTE:  Oscillation  suppression  components  or  a  shorting  bar  must  be  attached  as 
this is in series with the gate (base) drive as shown schematically on the front panel.  
If using a test fixture that already has an oscillation suppression network built into the 
fixture, then use a shorting bar across the gate (base) drive jacks. 
 
All  device  testing  can  be  performed  at  the  High  Current  Deck.    The  High  Current 
Deck is a pass through except for those tests that are programmed above 50 amps. 

9.2 Attachment to Low Current Deck 

If you have purchased the Low Current Deck, it can be connected between the 5000 
Series  Tester  and  the  High  Current  Deck.    Connect  the  Low  Current  Deck  device 
cable to the 5000 Series Tester and the High Current Deck device cable to the Low 
Current Deck.  You can now do all testing at the High Current Deck terminals. 

For  the  system  to  operate  properly  the  dipswitch 
setting  on  the  Analog  Board  must  match  the 
hardware  configuration  of  the  system  and  the 
configuration setting in the PCW Software!
