10 Decommissioning and disposal
Decommissioning
10.1
The lifting device may only be decommissioned by qualified specialist personnel.
The customer is responsible for disconnecting the lifting device from the lifting equipment used.
Procedure:
1. Switch off the energy supply and ensure that it cannot be switched back on again.
2. Have a qualified electrical specialist disconnect the energy supply.
3. The lifting device must be set down safely before the suction pad can be removed for safe
storage (see section 6.9.4/6.9.5 Replacing the suction pads).
4. Remove the chain from the crane eye and store the lifting device free from damage.
Disposal
10.2
Only qualified specialist personal may prepare the VacuMaster for disposal.
Procedure:
1. Shut down the lifting device.
2. Detach and dispose of the suction pads.
3. Release the hose clamps and remove the hoses.
4. Release the end stop screws on the beams and dismantle and dispose of the beams.
5. Remove the retaining rings from the pivot bearing, dismantle and dispose of the rotation unit.
6. Detach and dispose of the electrical control box.
7. Detach and dispose of the vacuum generator in accordance with the operating instructions
supplied separately.
8. Then detach and dispose of the remaining base bodies.

instruct it to observe the prevailing disposal and environmental regulations.
