Receptacle shell and
receptacle lid
Check for:
X
low spring tension when opening the receptacle lid
X
ease of movement when plugging
X
dirt
X
damage or wear and tear on shell, contacts, contact in-
sert
X
bent contacts
X
damage or abrasion of slots/guideways
X
cracks and ruptured patches
X
loose or missing fastening elements
X
tears and porosity in the lid seal
In case of defects:
X
remove existent dirt with-
out leaving any residue
X
immediately replace dam-
aged parts
Torsion springs at
receptacle lid
Check for:
X
insufficient lubrication of torsion springs
X
broken or overstretched torsion springs
X
secure and firm fit of torsion springs
In case of defects:
X
lubricate torsion springs
with Molykote
X
immediately replace dam-
aged parts
Locking mechanism of
the receptacle lid
Close the receptacle lid until the locking mechanism latches
and check for:
X
damage or abrasion
X
free movement of the locking mechanism
X
proper operation of the locking mechanism
X
secure and firm fit of the locking mechanism
In case of defects:
X
immediately replace dam-
aged parts
Sealing ring (O-ring) on
the mounting flange of
the receptacle
Check for:
X
tears and porosity on the sealing ring (O-Ring)
X
proper fit of the sealing ring (O-Ring)
In case of defects:
X
immediately replace dam-
aged O-rings
Rubber seal (lamella
ring) in the receptacle
shell
Check for:
X
tears and porosity on the rubber seal (lamella ring)
X
proper fit of the rubber seal (lamella ring)
X
Immediately replace a dam-
aged rubber seal (lamella
ring)
Socket insert
(for receptacles)
Check for:
X
visible damage
X
dirt
X
signs of moisture
X
cracks and ruptured patches
X
tears and porosity on the sealing ring (O-Ring)
