7. MAINTENANCE AND REPAIRS
The safety information from section 2 “Safety” must be observed.
DANGER!
Hazard from malfunction!
Incorrect assembly of the magnetic chuck can cause a malfunction of
the machine.
This can cause crushing and jamming points, posing a risk of crushing
for limbs.
Objects can be ejected, causing serious injuries and even death.

Have troubleshooting carried out only be qualified personnel.
■
The magnetic chuck must always be securely attached to the work
surface of the machine tool. Check after assembly!
■
Re-attach safety devices correctly.
DANGER!
Risk of crushing!
There is a risk of crushing limbs from tipping over or falling of the magnets
due to incorrect installation and removal of the magnetic chuck.
■
Secure the magnetic chucks against falling or tipping over.
■
When lifting the magnetic chucks, only use suitable and approved lifting
gear and slings which are designed for the weight of the magnetic chucks.
■
Have troubleshooting carried out only be qualified personnel.
Before each use
■
Conduct a visual inspection of the magnetic chuck.
■
Check that the pole plate is clean.
At regular intervals
■
Finely dress the pole plate depending on wear. Observe the maximum machining thickness of
the pole plate as per section 3 “Technical specifications”.
■
Check the pole plate as to whether the fastening threads for the pole plate have been exposed
after continued machining.
■
Check the underside of the magnet for contact corrosion.
