7.2.2 Abort in the critical section
Basically, there are two ways to abort the welding process in the critical section . If the
operator control shows the “Power has failed” message, a network interruption has
discontinued the welding process in the critical section . If the operator control
shows the “Failed in critical section” message, the welding process was aborted in the
critical section because of a drive blockage .
Sartorius Stedim Biotech recommends that a rewelding be selected to minimize
the risk of failure. When in the critical section while using liquid filled tubing
welding, select “Reweld” only to avoid liquid on the device.
Follow the operating instructions . Proceed according to the following diagram:
Acknowledge the message
“Power failure!
Read manual”
Reversing from
critical section
Remove blade
Check tubes sealing and close
cover to reverse
Reweld
Reverse
Device is executing
a reweld
Remove blade
Reversing from non-critical
section
End
Remove tubes carefully
Correct tube
type chosen?
Adjust tube type.
See chapter “Operation”

Failed in critical section
Reversing from
critical section
Acknowledge the message
“Failed in critical section!
Read manual”
Choose option
“Reweld” or
“Reverse”
Start after power fail
Remove blade
(only after power fail)
Insert blade and close cover.
Press start button
Remove blade
The blade is brought to the starting position with „Device reverted from the
critical section“. Both welding axes remain closed so that fluid can not flow out.
Clamp the tubes very close to the housing but outside the cover. This minimizes
damage in case of failure.
