Refrigerant Leak Test
1. Inspect all lines and hoses, fittings, and components for oily or dusty spots. When refrigerant leaks from the
system, a small amount of oil is carried out with it.
2. A soap and water solution can be sprayed on the components in the system to form bubbles at the source of the
leak.
3. Some refrigerant manufacturers add a dye to the refrigerant to aid in leak detection.
4. If a leak detector is used, move the leak detector probe under the hoses and around the connections at a rate of
1in. (25mm) per second.
Check and Adjust the Air Conditioner Compressor Belt
1. Prepare the machine for service. See “Maintenance Safety” on page 2-8.
2. Open the engine compartment cover. See “Engine Compartment Cover” on page 3-8.
3. Use a tensioning gauge to check the tension of the air conditioner compressor belt. Press down on the belt
halfway between the drive belt pulley and the compressor belt pulley. Apply 143 lbf. (637 N) of force on a new
belt, and 99 lbf (441 N) on a used belt. The belt must deflect 0.20 in.–0.31 in. (5 mm–8 mm).
NOTE:
Contact a SANY dealer for belt replacement.
4. Remove the two fasteners (1) that secure the belt
shroud (2).
5. Loosen the pulley fastener (3) and turn the tension
adjustment fastener (4) to achieve the correct belt
tension.
6. Tighten the pulley fastener.
NOTE:
Newly installed belts need to be checked and
adjusted if necessary after the first hour of
operation.
7. Install the belt shroud and secure it in place.
CAUTION!
Make sure the engine is off and that all rotating parts inside the engine compartment have
stopped moving.
Failure to follow this caution could result in injury.
