Alarm
Description
Reset Type
Cabinet or
Inductor Over
Temperature
Indicates the cabinet or inductor temperature is too high
Troubleshooting Tip: Check the vents at the back of the
PCS enclosure to ensure there are no air restrictions.
SELF
Cabinet or
Inductor
Thermistor Open
or Cold
Indicates the cabinet or inductor thermistor is open or cold (It
is considered open or cold if the temperature is under -13°F
(-25°C) .)
Troubleshooting Tip: If the ambient air is cold, this can be
a normal condition. If the ambient air is not cold, contact
S&C Electric Company.
SELF
Cabinet or
Inductor
Thermistor
Shorted
Indicates the cabinet or inductor thermistor shorted, resulting
in a measured high temperature
Troubleshooting Tip: Contact S&C Electric Company.
SELF
Check Island
Feedback Fuses
Indicates that, with the island circuit breaker indicating it's
closed, the ac input voltage and island input voltages are
different
Troubleshooting Tip: Look at the data to see if the low
voltage is on the island or the PureWave SMS-250 side.
If it is on the island side, one at a time, check the island
feedback fuses in the PCS enclosure. If the fuses are
all good, check any fuses that are located between the
island feedback source and the PureWave SMS-250
system. If the low voltage is on the PureWave SMS-250
side, the conductivity of the island circuit breaker could
be the problem. If this is the case, contact S&C Electric
Company.
SELF
Current Limit
Snapshot
Indicates a phase has gone to the current limit
Troubleshooting Tip: This alarm should clear after 10
seconds. If it does not, one of the current limit alarms is
probably on or going on and off. Look at the individual
alarms to try and find the phase that is keeping this alarm
on.
SELF
Dc Ground Fault
Indicates the dc voltage is not centered around ground
Troubleshooting Tip: Examine the battery to see if there is
an obvious ground fault in the battery system. Check the
wiring between the battery and the PCS. Contact S&C
Electric Company.
SELF
Dc Link
Pre-charge Slow
Indicates the expected voltage cannot be reached during
charging
Troubleshooting Tip: Contact S&C Electric Company.
