Installing Modules

This section explains how to install the Ethernet Switch Gigabit card, network
modules, and mini modules. Be sure to follow safe ESD (electrostatic
discharge) handling practices to avoid damage to module components.

.

When handling iBG3026 components, wear grounding wrist straps to
avoid ESD damage to the card. Do not directly touch the backplane
with your hand or any metal tool, or you could shock yourself.

Modules, mini modules, and interface cards are hot swappable.
In a redundant (two power-supply) chassis, you can remove or
replace one of the power supplies.

Installing Main Module

To add the main module to the iBG3026 chassis:

1.

Align the main module on the slot bay and push the main module into
the bay.

2.

Depress the board ejector to fix the main module.

3.

Tighten the retaining screws to fully seat the main module.
