HDTV
Troubleshooting
If you encounter difficulties when operating your HDTV, please check the list of
problems and possible solutions below to see if you can fix the problem yourself.
If you are still having difficulties, please call 1-800-SAMSUNG for assistance.
Can’t select a specific channel with CH
yz
The channel may not be in memory. Select the channel using the number buttons on
the remote control. If you would like to add the channel to memory, see “Adding
and Deleting Channels,” page 19.
Can’t store a favorite channel
The HDTV must have memorized at least three channels in order for the Favorite
Channel feature to work. See “Memorizing Channels” on page 18 and “Adding and
Deleting Channels” on page 19 for information on memorizing channels.
HDTV automatically turns off while you are viewing it.
•
The sleep timer may have been set to turn the HDTV off. Turn the HDTV
power on to restore the picture.
•
The automatic Off Time feature may have been set to turn the HDTV off.
Turn the HDTV power on to restore the picture. Turn off the Off Time feature
if you desire.
No sound
Check the Sound>Speaker Setup menu to make sure the settings for the Front L/R
Speakers, Rear LS/RS Speakers and Subwoofer are correct according to your speak-
er configuration.
For example, if the TV isn't connected to external speakers, but you select the
External Speaker in the menu, you will not hear any sound from the TV.
No picture
Press the ANTENNA button to view a cable or indoor/outdoor antenna. Also, you
may need to press the TV/VIDEO button to cycle through components you connect-
ed to the HDTV.
Poor picture quality
•
Analog channels: Fine tune the channel using the Setup>Setup
Channels>Fine Tune Channels menu.

Digital channels: Check the signal strength using the Setup>Setup
Channels>Check Signal Strength menu. If the signal strength is weak, physical-
ly adjust your antenna to obtain the best signal quality.
•
Both analog and digital channels: Check the convergence and adjust it if neces-
sary.
Remote control won’t work
•
The remote control may be set to operate another component. Press
SELECT repeatedly until the green indicator on the remote control lights
under the name of the component that you are trying to operate.
•
Replace the remote control batteries.
