Basic functions
Learn how to perform basic operations
and use the main features of your device.
Turn on your device for
the first time
1. Press and hold [ ].
2. Follow the onscreen instructions to
select the language, align the screen,
and customise the basic settings.
3. Enter your PIN and tap
(if necessary).
To turn off the device, repeat step 1
above.
Lock or unlock the device
You can lock the keypad to prevent any
unwanted device operations from
accidentally pressing any of the keys.
From the Today screen, press and hold
[
].
To unlock the keys, tap
Unlock
→
Unlock
.
Disable wireless functions
By disabling your device’s wireless
functions, you can use non-network
services in areas where wireless devices
are prohibited, such as aeroplanes and
hospitals.
To disable wireless functions,
1. From the Today screen, tap
Start
→
Settings
.
After selecting a language for the
display text, you cannot change it
again.
