TECHNOLOGY
1. Slide the phone open and press the OK key for Menu.
2. Press 7 for Tools/Utilities.
3. Press 1 to select Bluetooth.
4. Press 1 to Add New Device. You will be prompted to place
the r610 near the other Bluetooth®-enabled device, press
the OK key. The r610 will begin searching to find the other
device.
5. In the Add New Device screen, you will see a list of compat-
ible devices. Highlight the one you wish to communicate with
and press OK key for PAIR.
6. Enter the Passkey for the new device and press the OK soft
key on the r610. These two devices will then be paired and
able to wirelessly communicate.
MESSAGING
Sending a Simple Text Message or SMS
1. Slide the phone open and press the OK key for Menu.
2. Press 2 for Messages.
3. Press 1 for Send Message and 1 for Text Message.
4. In the Create Text Msg menu, enter the recipient’s number
and press the OK key.
5. Enter the text message using the keypad. You can access
different text modes by pressing the left soft key. Press the
OK key for SEND.
Sending a Multimedia Message or MMS
1. Slide the phone open and press the OK key for Menu.
2. Press 2 for Messages.
3. Press 1 for Send Message and 2 for Picture Message.
4. In the Create Pic Msg menu, enter the recipient’s number
and press the OK key.
5. Using the keypad, enter Subject and press the down Navi-
gation key to enter Text.
6. Press the down Navigation key for PIC and press the left soft
key for My PIC.
7. Scroll to highlight the desired picture and press the OK key.
8. Press soft key for Sounds.
9. Scroll to highlight the desired sound clip and press the OK key.
10. Press OK for SEND.
MP3 PLAYER WITH microSD™ SUPPORT
Insert microSD™ Card
1. Swing open the memory card slot cover on the lower left
side of the phone.
2. Insert the memory card – label side facing you and smaller
end pointing toward the phone – into the memory card slot.
3. Press the memory card into the slot until the card locks into
place.
4. Close the memory card slot cover.
Transfer music file to microSD™ card from your PC
Music is played from your microSD™ card.
1. Go to your PC and open the folder that contains the song
you want to transfer to your phone.
2. Plug the USB cable into the phone’s charging slot and the
USB end into your PC.
3. The r610 will display the message, “Select USB mode”.
Choose the USM option and press the OK key.
4. A confirmation message, “Connected to PC”, is displayed on
your phone.
5. On your PC, a Removable Disk pop-up window is displayed;
click the Open folder to view files in this window.
6. A window will open displaying the music currently stored on
your microSD™ card. Simply drag & drop the song file on
your PC’s folder to the folder on your microSD™ card titled
My Music.
7. Unplug the USB cable from the PC and the r610 handset.
Listen to Music
1. In Menu mode, press 4 for Multimedia.
2. Press 7 for My Music.
3. To choose the set of songs you would like to play, scroll to
each song you want to play and press the OK key after each
selection.
4. When you are finished selecting your songs, press the left
soft key for Play.
TAKE A PICTURE USING THE 1.3 MEGAPIXEL
CAMERA
1. Slide the phone open, and from Standby mode, press the
Camera key below the Navigation key.
2. Press the Options soft key to choose the specific camera
settings.
3. Scroll left and right to each option. Use the up and down
Navigation keys to select each setting, and press the OK key.
4. Press the OK key for Take. You now have the choice to
Save, Send, or Erase your picture.
