unit  of m easur em ent  know n as t he Specific Absor pt ion Rat e ( SAR) . The 
SAR is a m easur e of t he r at e of absor pt ion of RF ener gy by t he hum an 
body expr essed in unit s of wat t s per  kilogr am  ( W/ kg) . The FCC r equir es 
w ir eless phones t o com ply w it h a safet y  lim it  of 1.6 w at t s per  kilogr am  
( 1.6 W/  kg) . The FCC exposur e lim it  incor por at es a subst ant ial m ar gin of 
safet y t o give addit ional prot ect ion t o t he public and t o account  for  any 
var iat ions in m easur em ent s.

 

SAR t est s ar e conduct ed using st andar d oper at ing posit ions accept ed by 
t he FCC w it h t he phone t r ansm it t ing at  it s highest  cer t ified pow er  level in
