General troubleshooting 

 

Fault: 

Cause:

Drive belt slippage 

Excessive play in drive belts 

Re-tension drive belts 

Hardened drive belts 

Replace 

Eroded pulleys 

Replace  

Haulm Topper vibrates 

Blade holder is not centred 

Realign blade holder 

Hit an object 

Switch off machine and check for 
damage  

Loose blade bolts 

Retighten bolts; replace if worn. 

Blades worn/damaged 

Replace blades. 

Note: always 

replace both knives from the 
same holder at once.

 

Bearings of topper shafts worn out  Replace and adjust bearings 

Misaligned wheel sets
