INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
PA 25ACTIVE – ACTIVE ORCHESTRA SPEAKER PAIR
AREAS OF USE
The two-way bass reflex speaker pair is primarily intended to create sound for hobby purposes, at smaller events, family gatherings
etc. When used out of doors make sure the speakers do not become wet and are not affected by extreme temperature changes.
The MDF plate box construction is covered with a plastic (PVC) foil.
The device includes a built-in end amplifier, a mixer, and a reverb circuit. After switching on (POWER button) the LED indicator is lit
up. You can directly connect one or two microphones simultaneously (MIC1 IN and MIC2 IN sockets) and a stereo device with line
output (AUDIO IN RCA sockets on the back panel, e.g., DVD/CD player, tape recorder, radio tuner etc.). The microphone’s volume
and the joint volume of the three channels can be adjusted using the MIC VOL control and the VOLUME control, respectively. You
can adjust the tone as desired using the TREBLE and BASS controls. As an extra feature, the voice coming from the microphone
can be reverberated in an adjustable way (ECHO).
Connect the passive box to the clip-on connecter (AUDIO OUT) at the back of the active speaker. Only use the complementary box
that comes with the set. Take care to use the correct polarity (red: positive; black: negative). Use a good quality speaker cable of
the required length, with a minimum diameter of 2 x 1mm
2
.
CONNECTION
Always connect the speaker with the power switched off. Make sure to connect the speaker cables correctly and with the right polarity.
Lead the microphone cable and the speaker cable away from the power cord.
When not using the device, unplug the power cord. Before you first power up the system (POWER button) make sure that everything
is connected correctly. Connections should be stable and without short circuits, and the MIC VOL and VOLUME controls must be set
to the minimum level. After turning on the device, first slowly turn the VOLUME control clockwise, then do the same with the MIC VOL
control (if a microphone is connected)
MAXIMUM VOLUME
Every speaker must be “worn in” before regular use. In the first 30 to 50 hours only use them at 50% load at most. During this period,
do not drive the speakers at volumes close to the maximum.
In certain cases you might experience distorted, bad quality sound at higher volumes. This can happen if the input signal’s level is
too high. If the sound is distorted, decrease the volume immediately, and if needed, turn off the device. Connecting devices with an
inadequate signal level can easily overdrive the speakers. It is not recommended to use a computer as a signal source. The system’s
maximum volume is the level which is still emitted in good quality and without distortion.
By further increasing the volume the system’s output power does not increase any further; instead, its distortion grows. This is
extremely harmful for the speaker’s voice coils and can lead to damage.
When using a microphone, locate it as far from the speaker as possible to avoid howling. The speaker should not be directed towards
the microphone as howling can damage the speaker. When using a microphone, increase the volume carefully, and if you experience
howling, immediately turn the volume back down. If needed, change the location of the speaker.
The guarantee does not cover damage resulting from improper use.
WARNINGS
DO NOT CONNECT ANY CABLES WHEN THE DEVICE IS WORKING. NEVER TURN ON THE SYSTEM WITH THE VOLUME AT A HIGH
LEVEL. THE POP OR OTHER NOISE SPIKE WHICH CAN BE HEARD WHEN SWITCHING ON WILL IMMEDIATELY CAUSE IRREPARABLE
DAMAGE TO THE SPEAKER.
TURN OFF AND DISCONNECT THE AMPLIFIER AND CONSULT A TECHNICIAN AT THE SMALLEST SUSPICIOUS SIGN OF TROUBLE (E.G.,
STRANGE SMELL, DISTORTED SOUND, SOUND GOES OFF ETC.). BY DOING SO YOU CAN OFTEN PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE SPEAKERS.
PROTECT FROM SUNLIGHT, HUMIDITY AND WATER. DO NOT EXPOSE TO DIRECT HEAT.
PROTECT FROM EXTREME TEMPERATURES.
FOR USE ONLY IN A DRY ENVIRONMENT.
DO NOT DISMANTLE OR TAMPER WITH THE DEVICE. BECAUSE OF THE PRESENCE OF NETWORK VOLTAGE, ALWAYS OBSERVE THE
USUAL LIFE PROTECTION RULES.
IF THE POWER CORD IS DAMAGED, UNPOWER THE DEVICE IMMEDIATELY.
WHEN FINISHED USING THE DEVICE, UNPLUG IT.
THE WARRANTY IS NOT APPLICABLE TO DAMAGE CAUSED BY IRRESPONSIBLE OR IMPROPER USE.
SPEAKERS USE MAGNETS, YOU SHOULD THEREFORE AVOID PLACING OBJECTS SENSITIVE TO MAGNETISM (E.G., CREDIT CARDS,
AUDIO TAPES, COMPASSES) NEAR THEM).
CLEAN WITH A SOFT, DRY CLOTH. NEVER USE AGGRESSIVE DETERGENTS FOR CLEANING.
