Fuel Requirements
Use only the recommended fuel which
meets national standard!
Serious damage
to the catalytic converter, a reduction in
engine power/torque and increase in fuel
consumption will occur if the wrong fuel is
used.
Use the fuel recommended by the manufacturer. See "Main
Parameters of Engine" in "Technical Data" chapter.
If a lower grade of fuel is used, an engine knocking noise
may occur, please use the recommended or above grade
gasoline as soon as possible.
If the engine knocking
noise is still noticeable after using the recommended or
above grade fuel, please contact MG Authorised Repairer
immediately. It is permitted that the octane number of
gasoline is higher than that required by the engine, but
it is not advantageous for engine output power and fuel
consumption.
Safety Precautions in a Fuel Filling Station
Vehicle fuel gases are highly flammable
and, in confined spaces, are also extremely
explosive.
Always take care when refueling:
• Switch off the engine.
• Do not smoke or use a naked flame.
• Do not use a mobile phone.
• Avoid spilling fuel.
• Do not overfill the tank.
