5 Storage and Maintenance
5.1 Storage
Thissectionistobeusedasguidanceonly.Insomecases,storingandpacking
methods may vary to comply with other recommendations, safety aspects or
protection of materials.
Fully assembled units must be dismantled to pre-assembled parts (i.e. frames,
platforms) and single components and moved for storage.
An adequate area must be dedicated for storage of SAFESCREEN® materials. This
includes:
• Zone 1: for dismantling units (i.e. typical unit size is 12.0 m long by 4.6 m wide, make
adequate allowance for access);
•
Zone 2: for pre-assembled frames and platforms.
•
Pre-assembled frames to be layed down vertically on ground on timber spread-
ers and banded in pairs. Spreaders to be placed at platform positions. To stack
two levels of frames in height, a minimum of 4 pairs must be placed side by side
at the bottom level first.
•
Pre-assembled platforms to be stacked horizontally on ground, on timber
spreaders, one on top of each other (max. 8no. in height). Plywood to be
removed and disposed of prior to storage.
•
Zone 3: for individual items.
