secure adequate infills to the infill panel’s frame.
WARNING
Warning!
A
ll infills must allow free and clear movement during climbing of the
SAFESCREEN® unit
to the next level.
8.3 Operating the unit
8.3.1 Remote Hydraulic Lift
SAFESCREEN® units can be lifted to keep in line with the construction of upper levels,
by either guided crane climbing or remote hydraulic self-climbing. The units are
secured against the structure at all times with either method.
Using the remote hydraulic self-climbing method, the units are lifted in 375mm
increments with 600mm pitch rams that are positioned on to the Support Shoes and
powered by an suitable Hydraulic Power Pack.
The Hydraulic Power Packs have both electric and hydraulic safety features. Electrically,
the unit has overload trips and hydraulically the unit has a relief valve to prevent
damage to other components and screen parts. The Hydraulic Rams have safety valves
fitted, that are designed to hold the screen in-situ in the event the hoses are damaged
during lifting.
Generally a low capacity 110V (32A) (or 220V (32A) version used in Germany) Hydraulic
Power Pack is ideal for the majority of applications, however a higher capacity 400V
(32A) Hydraulic Power Pack, capable of lifting two units at a time, is also available.
The Hydraulic Power Pack and Hydraulic Rams are coupled with fast fix hose
connections and biodegradable oil is used with the system.
