Layer-2 Interface Commands
port monitor
Configures a port to monitor the traffic from another port.
NOTE:
Enable monitor in global configuration mode after setting the monitor port.
Command Mode:

Syntax
[no] port monitor <port> direction <direction>
Description
■
<port>
- Sets the port to be monitored.
■
direction <direction>
- Sets the data direction to be monitored, may be rx, tx, or
both. rx: monitors received packets. tx: monitors transmitted packages. both: monitors
received and transmitted packets.
■
no port monitor
- Disables port monitoring. Default.
Example
!Sets port 2 as the monitoring Port for port 4 with bi-direction (both)
monitoring.
