4.3.1.1 Static MAC Table

 

When you add a static MAC address, it permanently remains in the switch's address table, regardless of whether the device is 

physically connected to the switch. This saves the switch from having to re-learn a device's MAC address when the disconnected or 

powered-off device is active on the network again. 

 

This table can associate with the 

Security 

field in 

Port Controls 

configuration to achieve the access control by source MAC / port / 

VID binding. That is only ingress traffic with matched lookup (with specified MAC address, port number and VID) in this table can be 

allowed to access to the switch.
