9.4.1.11 | Parameters available in the Sum Group (Loudness mode)
The
Sum Group
, located to the right of the channel bargraphs
in the Program Meter display, contains up to three bargraphs
showing the summed loudness of all channels in the Channel
Group:
• Momentary (M) bargraph
The „Momentary“ bargraph, labelled
M
by default, uses a
sliding 400 ms time window.
• Short-Term (S) bargraph
The „short-term“ bargraph, labelled
S
by default, uses a
sliding 3 s time window.
• Integrated (I) bargraph
The „Integrated“ bargraph, labelled
i
by default, uses
gating conforming to ITU-R BS.1770-2. It measures the
prgogram between „Start“ and „Stop“ commands issued
by the user.
After having selected one the loudness options in the
Program
Meter combo box on the Key 1 to Key 7 menu pages and
selecting the
PPM + loudness Settings
button, selecting the
Sum Group
button will display the
Sum Group
menu page.
NOTE -
The parameters on this menu page are not
only used to configure the summing loudness bargraphs
M
,
S
and I, but also the single channel loudness bargraphs dis-
played in the Channel Group .
NOTE -
After one of the loudness modes
iTu
BS.1771 , EBU R128 , aTSc a/85 , or ARIB was selected,
most of the loudness parameters will be fixed to the values
proposed in the corresponding standard. However, after the
custom
mode was selected (see figure above), all loudness
parameters are available for individual editing.
