8.2 | The Program Meter Instrument
The Program Meter instrument is always displayed in window

are displayed in the Toolbar. (The Program Meter is available

NOTE - The Loudness modes ITU BS.1771 , EBU
R128 , ATSC A/85 , ARIB and Custom are only available when
using digital audio input signals in Stereo or 5.1 surround
channel confi gurations.
NOTE - Having selected one of the loudness modes,
most loudness parameters will be fi xed to the values recom-
mended in that standard. If you prefer to edit those parameters
individually, select the
Custom loudness type instead.
The PPM mode or loudness standard to be used for loudness
measurements can be selected using the
Program Meter
combo box. To get there, please proceed as follows:
1. Press MENU . The unit changes to menu mode.
2. Select the Edit selected preset button.
3. Select the Local Input/Output Routing and Instrument
Settings menu tab. The Local Routing Settings menu is
shown.
4. Select the Monitoring Input Routing button.
5. Open the Program Meter combo box.
6. Select PPM , ITU BS.1771 , EBU R128 , ATSC A/85 ,
ARIB or Custom .

The Program Meter can have six different modes:
• Peak Program Meter mode (PPM)
• ITU BS.1771 Loudness Meter mode
• EBU R128 Loudness Meter mode
• ATSC A/85 Loudness Meter mode
• ARIB Loudness Meter mode
• Custom Loudness Meter mode
