8.1 | Controlling the instruments
The instruments and their functions can be operated in three
different ways: With the keys of the Remote Control 30050
unit (31900 series) resp. the control panel of the 31960
8 | Instruments (Display Modes)
The Remote Control 30050 (31900 series) has one
red Se-
lect key
, the control panel of the 31960 series and the Remo-
te Display 30010 have two
red Select keys
. These keys are
used to confi rm selections in the menus. When using the opti-
onal mouse, the left mouse key is used to confi rm selections.
The buttons displayed in the Toolbar are numbered. These
numbers correspond to the numbers below the function keys
on the Remote Control 30050 unit.
In addition to pushbuttons and switch function buttons, the
Toolbar also includes displays for the current
input and out-
put status
. When pressing the
Input
key or clicking the
Input
button on the Toolbar the numbered buttons in the Toolbar
display the Sub Presets with the available input sources for the
current selected preset. Pressing the
Output
key or clicking
the Toolbar output button changes the current output as defi -
ned for the
Output Key Mode
in the
Input/Output Routing
menus (detailed description in previous section and in the fol-
lowing chapter).
8.1.1 | The Control Keys and the Toolbar
The Remote Control 30050 (31900 series) resp. the control
panel of the 31960 series and the Remote Display 30010
have a total of 11 keys for operating the SurroundControl sys-
tems. On-screen buttons providing the same control functions
for access with an optional mouse are displayed in the Toolbar
in window 1 of the display.
The functions assigned to
function keys 1 to 7
change de-
pending on the current system mode. The functions that are
currently active are displayed in the Toolbar. These keys can
function as either pushbuttons or switches, and they can also
be used to toggle settings with up to three options for some
instruments. The current option is highlighted and you can
switch between the available options by pressing the key or
clicking the corresponding button repeatedly.
Two pairs of
control keys
are located below the function keys
on the Remote Control 30050 (31900 series) and to the
left and right of the function keys on the control panel of the
31960 series and on the Remote Display 30010:
•
MODE
Switches
between
Function Select
and
Instru-
ment Select
modes.
•
MORE
Moves down to the next Toolbar layer. When you
are on the last available layer, selecting
MORE
returns you to the fi rst layer. This Toolbar button
is greyed out if only one layer is available.
•
MENU
Accesses the confi guration menu for viewing
and adjusting settings.
•
INSTR
Stands for „Instrument“ and switches the focus
between window 2 and window 3.
In the confi guration menus, these four keys are used as cursor
keys.
