User manual
The RTS GREENKEEPER® is your perfect tool for applying static grass on a model landscape. With electrostatic technology the
grass fibers get electrostatically charged and will land in a vertical position on the scenery. The result is a very realistic grass
surface and it looks like natural landscape.
Safety instructions
To build up an electrostatic field, a corresponding (see device table) high voltage is generated in the RTS GREENKEEPER®. The
flow of electrical current is electronically limited to a value that is harmless to humans.
Please follow these precautions:
-
Keep the device away from children or keep it locked!
-
Make sure the RTS GREENKEEPER® is stored in a dry place and protect it from any moisture and frost!
-
Use the RTS GREENKEEPER® only for the intended use!
-
Never use the device if you notice moisture in or on the RTS GREENKEEPER®!
-
The device must not be put into operation if people with a pacemaker are present!
-
Do not touch the metal plate on the bottom of the container (inside)
–
risk of electric shock!
-
Remove the 9-volt battery if you place the RTS GREENKEEPER® in storage!
-
Keep away from flammable liquids, gas and any combustible materials!
-
Avoid direct sunlight as well as any exposure of heat!
-
We discard any liability in cases of accidents and material damage, caused by inappropriate use or handling, undertaken of
any activity by unauthorized personnel and the resulting damages on persons and device, and for any subsequent damages!
-
Warning
: Always
discharge the device before and after use, and before each filling with flock material!
To do this, connect
the blue plug of the cable with the blue socket, hold the alligator clip on the insulation and lead it
several times very slowly
against the metal plate on the bottom of the container. The arising sparks are harmless.
How to use
The RTS GREENKEEPER® can be operated with any standard 9-volt battery. The battery compartment is located on the top of the
RTS GREENKEEPER® devices (under the black lid).
To fill
–
unscrew the respective sieve and fill the RTS GREENKEEPER® up to a maximum of two thirds of the container volume
with suitable synthetic grass fibres. Put the appropriate sieve back in position and rotate until it is tightly closed. Insert the
enclosed cable with the plug side into the blue socket on the top of the device. Then sprinkle the flaked surface with suitable
static grass glue and fix a nail or pin in the adhesive bed. Connect the alligator clip to the nail or pin.
Now you can start the flocking process.
The RTS GREENKEEPER® is taken into one hand in such a way that the power button can also be pressed with the index finger
of the same hand. When pressing the power button, the indicator light signals the operation of the device. Move the RTS
GREENKEEPER® as vertically as possible over the adhesive bed. The distance between the device and the surface to be flocked
should be only a few centimetres. A uniform saturation of the artificially generated grass cushion is achieved by light, shaking
movements, even by light tapping with the free hand on the side of the device.
Excess fibres can be extracted and reused after complete drying.
User tips
Before flocking, turn the filled device up with the sieve side and hold the power button for about 6-10 seconds. Then release the
power button and start the flocking process. This allows you to flock for up to one minute without pressing the power button
again. By using this interval technique, the lifespan of the used battery is increased by many times (up to 5 times).
Almost all synthetic grass fibres are suitable flocking materials. The recommendations for each RTS GREENKEEPER® can be found
in the table below. In order to recreate naturally acting grass surfaces, different fibres with different lengths can be mixed and
processed. For small areas or selective application, use the nozzle or the dosing disks.
