The Digital Inclinometer app is available on the Google Play Store. If the Android device is
Google Mobile Services Certified, Google Play Store is pre-installed on the device.
To install or update the Digital Inclinometer App from Google Play, the following works for
most Android devices:
•
Select the Play Store app from the Android Desktop.
•
At the top of the Search panel, enter the search word “RST Instruments”.
•
Select the Digital Inclinometer app.
•
Follow the installation prompts to install the app.
•
After the app is installed, the Digital Inclinometer app is visible on the Android
desktop.

The Digital Inclinometer app may also be distributed as a stand alone Android application
package (APK) file.
To install or update the Digital Inclinometer App from an APK file, the following works for
most Android devices:
•
Copy the APK file to the download folder on the internal storage of the Android
device.
•
Open the Android file manager app.
•
From the file manager app, navigate to the Internal Storage
→
Download folder.
•
Locate the downloaded APK file and tap on the APK file to automatically launch the
installer.
•
Follow the installation prompts to install the app. Since this installation method
requires the installation from unknown sources, some versions of Android requires
the device administration option to be set to allow installation from unknown
sources.
•
Procced to install the app.
•
After the app is installed, the Digital Inclinometer app is visible on the Android
desktop.

The Android device internal storage may be connected to a PC using a USB client cable to
the Windows computer and selecting the USB operating mode to be in File Transfer Mode.
The default operating mode is typically set for No Data Transfer.
To configure the Android device for File Transfer mode, the following typically works for most
Android devices:
•
Enter the Android settings app.
•
At the top of the settings app, enter the search word “USB” in the Search Settings.
•
A list of USB option is displayed. Select USB Preferences.
•
The USB Preferences option is displayed. Select the option for File Transfer.
•
This will immediately initiate the connection to allow the Windows computer to access all
the files on the Android Internal shared storage media.
