Operation
The stripper will prepare flexible, multistrand wires between 0.2mm
2
and 6.0mm
2
c.s.a. To strip, slide the adjustment stop along the bottom
jaw to give the required stripping length. Feed the wire in between the
jaws up to the stop and close the handles. The stripper will
automatically remove insulationwithout any adjustment. To remove
insulation from the multicore cables, some friction adjustment may be
necessary. In such cases, rotate the friction adjustment knob anti-
clockwise to reduce friction.
Stripping jaw replacement
1. Release jaw friction completely by turning the adjustment knob anti-
clockwise (fig. 1).
2. Remove the circlip and extract the frame pivot pin (fig.1).
3. Invert the stripper as in fig. 2 and carefully push the moulded
handle through the frame as indicated. Do not disturb the
positioning of the friction pin and cam.
4. Remove the moulded handle, by lifting the stripping jaw out odf the
top half of the jaw frame. Remove the jaw retaining pin and extract
the old jaws and spring (fig. 3)
5. Fit replacement jaws (RS stock no. 613-050) ensuring that the jaw
spring is set in its original position.
6. Re-assemble the stripper in reverse order and check for correct
operation.
