Description
Tools specifically designed to strip standard FCC68 cable and
terminals to RS FCC68 plugs (

Operation - Stripping
Using the appropriate tool (see above), lay the cord* to be stripped in
the cable guide with the end of the cord well under the cutting blade.
Squeeze the tool handles to close cutting and stripping blades, then
pull the cord out.
Inner wires should now be stripped to the correct length.
Termination
Feed the wire into a 4, 6, or 8 way plug as appropriate and push the
connector into the punch and die assembly, until the plug clicks into
position. Squeeze the handles together to terminate. Release handles,
depress latch on plug to release from locked position and withdraw.
Stripping blade replacement
Take out old blades by removing locking screws ÔAÕ. Note the cable
guide will have to be removed as well. Replace with new stripping
blades

Fit bottom blade first (with the cable guide) ensuring that the blade has
a ÔUÕ shaped cutting section and that the chamfer at the blade edge
faces to the front of the tool.
Make sure that the top stripping blade (straight section) aligns with the
bottom blade with the jaws closed and again that the edge chamfer
faces the front of the tool.
Cutting blade replacement
The cutting blade and anvil may be replaced by

Remove screws ÔBÕ and fit replacements as indicated, ensuring that the
anvil is fitted first (butting against the bottom stripping blade support).
The cutting blade should penetrate the slot in the anvil with the tool
jaws closed. Ensure that the chamfer on the cutting blade edge faces
the font of the tool.
Note:
Set distance between cutting and stripping blade at 7mm for 4-
and 6-way tools, 15mm for 8-way tool.
