Introduction

The monochrome CCTV mini system is designed to enable
quick and simple installation of a surveillance or monitoring
system.  The unit is supplied complete with camera, mounting
bracket and connection cables for single camera operation.
The camera has a built in microphone for audio monitoring.
The system has a four way camera switcher built in, hence the
system may be extended by purchasing additional cameras.
Cable length may be extended up to 90m.  An intercom unit
enables 2-way  speech, ideal when used in conjunction with an
access control unit for visual and verbal identification of wanted
or unwanted visitors.  A VCR may be connected using the VCR
lead to record events.  The alarm input/output can be used to
trigger the VCR into record mode.

System installation

General precautions

a. The system should not be installed in an area that has

excessive humidity, heat, dust or moisture.

b. Avoid locations where continuous vibrations or mechanical

shocks are present i.e. mounting on moving machinery.

c.

The monitor should not be installed near transformers or
motors as these may interfere with the video picture.  If the
picture shows dark bars, rolling lines or rolling/pulling
picture this is an indication that interference is occurring.

d. It is recommended that the camera cable be secured to the

mounting bracket using a cable tie such as

System connection

Once the position of the monitor and cameras have been
determined and the cables run between the latter the system
can be plugged together as shown in figure 1 and 2.

The detail of the VCR and PIR/switch contact connections are
covered in Ôsystem accessoriesÕ later in this manual.
