The battery must be periodically checked for
-
Cleanliness and corrosion free terminals.

Electrolyte level
-
If electrolyte level is low, top up with
distilled water.
NOTE :
For checking the battery voltage and electrolyte
specific gravity, contact authorised battery service
centre.
REASSEMBLY OF BATTERY ON VEHICLE
Position the battery in the battery carrier such
that the negative terminal of the battery is
towards fuel tap.
Connect the positive terminal (Red wire).
Connect the negative terminal (Black wire).
Smear the terminals with petroleum jelly. (Do
not use grease).
Refit the bracket to hold the battery.
Refit battery carrier cover and lock the same.
CAUTION :
Do not use battery with low electrolyte level
as the battery internals will get damaged.
Do not overfill the battery electrolyte as it will
spill ot through the over flow pipe and cause
corrosion to vehicle parts.
Use only distilled water meant for use in
batteries to avoid damage to battery.
Clean the wire terminals free of corrosion and
keep the terminals coated with petroleum jelly.
