\All electrical installation work required inside the ROTEX E-SolarUnit has already been completed at the factory. A 3 m flexible
external sensor cable (see Figure 2-1, pos. 39) has already been connected to the terminals inside the unit and plugged onto the
connecting circuit board in the control panel. Only optional extras (such as a mixer circuit) then have to be connected to the boiler
control panel.
3.7
Temperature sensor
3.7.1 General instructions for the temperature sensors
The ROTEX ESU controls the flow temperature based on the weather. An
external temperature sensor
is required for this
function. A 3 m flexible cable is already connected inside the unit and placed in the control panel on the connecting circuit board.
The temperatures detected via the
internal temperature sensors
(flow and return flow temperature sensors) are used to
control the heat generator's output and to detect faults. They are connected in the factory and can be plugged onto the
appropriate sensor directly, should a replacement be needed.
The
storage tank temperature sensor
is installed and connected to the terminals at the factory (PTC thermistor). The
mixer
circuit flow sensor
(

) is required to control a mixer circuit.
3.7.2 Connecting the temperature sensor
Make sure that the mains connection uses the correct phase sequence. If incorrect polarity is used, the mains
switch remains lit even after it has been switched off.

The use of temperature sensors that are not approved or unsuitable for the unit can lead to major malfunctions
during controlled operation of the ROTEX ESU and impair the control function of the unit.
• Only use the external temperature sensor included in the scope of delivery.
