Installation – General Information

The SA-29G Repeater detects the RF transmissions from
the Rosslare sensors and remote controls in its vicinity,
and re-transmits them to the main control unit.
Caution: AVOID mounting on or near large metal
surfaces or reinforced concrete walls which may interfere
or block the wireless signals. Test the range from the
desired location using the RF test procedure described in

section

0.

Caution: To prevent false tamper signals, make sure that
after enrolling the repeater, the Case and Back Tamper
are secure.
Caution: BATTERY WARNING!!! DO NOT REMOVE, DE-
SOLDER, SHORT-CIRCUIT OR BURN THE BATTERY ON THE
UNIT. THIS MAY CAUSE PERMANENT DAMAGE TO THE
BATTERY.

Installation Instructions

4.1.

Recharging the Battery

Recharge the battery the first time you operate the SA-
29G, or if you are using the unit after it has been out of
service for a prolonged period of time.
Recharge the UPS battery for at least 7 hours, to make it
fully functional.

4.2.

Enrolling to the Host Control Panel

1)

In the appropriate RF zone, enter the programming

menu of the host. Go to the Repeater Zone and select

the RF device.

2)

When prompted, generate a transmission from the SA-
29G Repeater unit using the cover Tamper Switch (the

SA-29G must be connected to DC power).

Note: The SA-29G will identify any Rosslare wireless
product, by protocol. It will repeat any transmission it

receives so the transmission reaches other devices that
are part of the setup (e.g., Wireless Keypads, Control

Panels and/or Wireless Sirens).

4.3.

Mounting the SA-29G onto the Wall

1)

Remove the plastic screw cover from the SA-29G front

cover (see

Figure 1

), to reveal the case-locking screw.

2)

Unscrew the case locking screw and remove the front
cover.

CAUTION: Do not touch any of the circuitry.

3)

Using the back case as a template, mark the locations

of the holes on the wall, and then drill the desired

holes. It is recommended to install the unit in a high
position to prevent tampering.
