TES9 Software User Manual (Iss. 04)
Main TES9Set Menu
After the settings are downloaded from the encoder, the main TES9Set menu, similar to the one
shown below, displays.
Main TES9Set Menu
The following is a brief description of the controls on the main TES9Set menu.
ID Area
The ID area of the menu displays general information about the encoder being configured. The
Encoder Type and Serial Number fields describe the encoder's hardware, while the Firmware
Number and Revision fields describe the software that is currently running on the encoder.
TCP/IP Area
This area is for display purposes only; to change any of the values, select the

•
Address
— The IP address of the encoder when it was powered up.
•
Netmask
— The Netmask used by the encoder. The IP Address and Netmask are
assigned to the encoder so that it can communicate over a TCP/IP network with other
computers. The IP Address and Netmask values are controlled by your network
administrator.
•
Gateway
— The IP address of the gateway for the network to which the encoder is
connected. The gateway allows the encoder and other devices on the network to
communicate with the devices outside the network. Its address is controlled by your
network administrator.
•
DHCP
— This feature (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) allows the encoder to get
an IP address, netmask, and gateway address assigned to it by a DHCP server, as opposed
to using fixed values.
ON
indicates DHCP is used and
OFF
indicates that the encoder is
