Programming Custom Control Loops
Create a custom control that loops back on itself to have a series of effects repeat indefinitely. You
cannot directly loop back to the beginning of a custom control you are currently recording so a
loop-back custom control is used.
The loop-back custom control is a second custom control that completes the loop. You can call the
loop-back custom control as the final step of your custom control that you wish to repeat. The
loop-back custom control contains a single step which calls the first custom control, effectively
creating a loop. The diagram below illustrates the concept.
Looping and Loop-back Custom Controls
When the first custom control is played, all the events play back and then the loop-back custom
control is called. It plays, calling the first custom control, and the loop repeats indefinitely.
Creating a Looping Custom Control
Use the following procedure to create a looping custom control:
1. Navigate to the Custom Controls Menu as follows:
• Press HOME B Custom Controls .

2. Select the custom control button you want to record to as follows:
• Use the Bank knob to select the custom control bank you want to record the custom
control to.
• Use the Button knob to select the custom control button that you want to record a
custom control macro to. You can also press the desired button directly on the

Pressing an unprogrammed custom control button, one with no macros
recorded on it, will stop a running custom control macro.
