Keying • 7–25
Use the following procedure to perform a Chroma Key on an MLE Keyer:
1. Check that your program/preview monitoring is set as required. Refer to the section
” on page 4–33 for details.
2. Select an input on the MLE’s
PGM
or
BKGD
bus. This provides the background over
which the Chroma Key will appear.
3. On the
Key Bus
, select the desired Chroma Key source (typically, a camera or a
graphics system).
4. In the MLE’s
Key 1
or
Key 2
group, press
CHROMA KEY
to display the
Chroma Key
Setup Menu
.
5. Adjust the clip, gain, and hue as follows:
•
For
Display Section
adjustments, press
Basic
.
Chroma Key Setup Menu — Basic Adjustments
•
Use the
Clip
knob to adjust clip level (threshold) . The default value:
49.0%
.
•
Use the
Gain
knob to adjust gain (softness). The default value:
81.9%
.
•
Use the
Hue
knob to select the color (hue) that you want to remove. The default
value is
34.9%
(blue).

6. Adjust the width of the selected hue (the
Reject
parameter) as follows:
•
For
Display Section
adjustments, press
Reject
.

Use the
Reject
knob to adjust the reject level. The default value is
80.0%
.
7. Adjust the amount of chroma retained in the key’s foreground (the Chroma Suppress
parameter) as follows:
