1. Serializer/Deserializer Sections
The Serializer/Deserializer Sections include individual sockets for a group of
Deserializer Modules
(4000A-061) and
Serializer Modules
(4000A-062). Each slot is
labeled as to the function for each module. Refer to the the section “
” on page 5–8 and the the section “
” on page 5–9 for details
on slot assignments and module functionality.

2. LED Section
Thirteen serial activity LEDs are provided to monitor system communications:

3. Switch Section
This section contains an array of switches — some of which are provided for customer
use. Refer to the the section “
” on page 5–5 for details.
4. Boot EPROM
The Boot EPROM is socketed, in the event that an update of the EPROM is required.
5. Backup Battery for NV RAM
The Backup Battery ensures that the contents in non-volatile RAM are not lost in the
event of a power loss to the frame CPU board.
Note
The two
Deserializer Modules
are standard on the Synergy 100, as
they provide full functionality of the Downstream Keyer.
Note
The
Watchdog
jumper must be left in its current factory installed
position.
