1. Serializer/Deserializer Sections
The Serializer/Deserializer Sections include individual sockets for a group of
Deserializer Modules (4000A-061) and Serializer Modules (4000A-062). Each slot is
labeled as to the function for each module. Refer to the the section “ Deserializer
Module ” on page 5–8 and the the section “ Serializer Module ” on page 5–9 for details
on slot assignments and module functionality.
• (standard) 1 slot on the left side of the board is provided for the Background
Deserializer Module .
• (standard) 1 slot on the left is provided for the Preset Deserializer Module .
• (standard) 2 slots on the left are provided for Key 1 Video and Key 1 Alpha
Deserializer Modules .
• (standard) 2 slots on the left are provided for Key 2 Video and Key 2 Alpha
Deserializer Modules .
• (optional) 2 slots on the left are provided for Timed Aux Bus Deserializer
Modules .
• (optional) 2 slots on the right side of the board are provided for Timed Aux Bus
Serializer modules.
• (standard) 1 slot on the right is provided for the Preview output Serializer Module .
• (standard) 1 slot on the right is provided for the Program output Serializer
Module .
• (optional) 1 slot on the right is provided for the Clean output Serializer Module .
2. LED Section
Thirteen serial activity LEDs are provided to monitor system communications:
• Yellow LED =
TX
(transmit)
• Green LED =
RX
(receive)
3. Switch Section
This section contains an array of switches — some of which are provided for customer
use. Refer to the the section “
Frame Jumpers and Switches ” on page 5–5 for details.
4. Boot EPROM
The Boot EPROM is socketed, in the event that an update of the EPROM is required.
5. Backup Battery for NV RAM
The Backup Battery ensures that the contents in non-volatile RAM are not lost in the
event of a power loss to the frame CPU board.
Note The two Deserializer Modules are standard on the Synergy 100, as
they provide full functionality of the Downstream Keyer.
Note The Watchdog jumper must be left in its current factory installed
position.
