Installing the Fan on a Frame
Use the following procedure to install the
Squeeze & Tease 3D/WARP Fan
Assembly
:
1. Turn off the power to the frame and carefully remove the
Synergy 1/100 Frame
Processor
Board
(4216A-001) from the frame. Set it on a clean, flat, static free surface,
with the rear of the board to your left. This orientation allows for the easiest access to the
Squeeze & Tease 3D
Board
(4000A-148).
2. Locate the
Squeeze & Tease 3D/WARP
Board
that is located near the center right
section of the
Frame
Processor
Board
.
3. Carefully unpack the
Squeeze & Tease 3D/WARP Fan
Assembly
(4000A-248),
consisting of the fan assembly itself, a 10-pin ribbon cable, 2 hex standoffs, and two 3/8”
long screws.
4. Attach one end of the ribbon cable to the 8-pin connector (
J6
) near the top center of the
S&T 3D
card. Although the socket on the cable is 10-pin, it will always seat correctly, as
it is restricted by the space between this connector and the 20-pin connector next to it.
5. Insert and tighten the threaded ends of the 2 standoffs to the front edge of the
Squeeze &
Tease 3D/WARP
card, in the holes identified as
MP1
and
MP2
.
6. With the oblique angle on the upper left corner, attach the ribbon cable connector to the
10-pin connector at the top of the
Squeeze & Tease 3D/WARP Fan
Assembly
card.
7. Position the fan assembly on top of the standoffs, with the standoffs aligned with their
respective holes on the fan assembly card (
MP1
to
MP1
and
MP2
to
MP2
).
Caution
Observe all static discharge precautions throughout the procedure.
