Synergy 1 and Synergy 100 Maintenance Guide (v16-S1)
System Architecture • 2–19
Power-Up Sequence
In a
Power-Up
sequence on the control panel, the system first accesses the control panel EPROM, and
determines if a software upgrade has been requested.
•
If an upgrade has been requested, the system enters the software upgrade mode.
•
If the contents of the control panel’s flash memory fail a checksum test, the system goes
into upgrade mode.
•
If an upgrade has not been requested, the system goes to flash memory and copies the
contents of the CPU program from flash to RAM.
Within the flash memory are located
FPGA files, which are uploaded into the control panel’s FPGAs.
The control panel next goes to RAM,
executes the operating program from RAM, and waits for
commands from the frame.
If the panel receives
no information
from the frame, the Synergy 1 panel
waits in the “
Synergy 1 Logo
” mode as show below.
Synergy 1 Logo
In addition, if communication is lost to the Synergy frame, the panel drops into Diagnostic mode, and
the panel itself goes dark.
In the case of the Synergy 100 control panel, the panel will remain unlit, with the exception of the
Ross™ logo, until it receives commands from the frame.
If communication with the Synergy frame is
lost, the message, “
FRME COMM LOST
” appears across the four-character displays. Refer to the
section, “
” on page 3–22 for information on USB error messages when power is
restored to the Synergy 100 control panel.
Important
You may receive a “
USB Upgrade Failed
” error message when the
Synergy 1 control panel is powered on if you have the
USB
Removable Media Drive Option
installed. Should you receive this
error message, contact Ross Video Technical Support for instructions
on how to correct the error.
