3. Lower the switcher panel down onto the table so that it is resting on the panel bottom. If
you need to move it back into its original position, do so now.
4. Attach all the cables to the back of the switcher that you removed when you were
beginning the USB controller installation. Attach the power cord(s) last.
5. Power on the Synergy 1 control panel. If your switcher has dual power supplies, turn
them both on.
6. Follow any on-screen instructions.
This completes the procedure to close the Synergy 1 control panel.
Transferring Files to a USB Key
If you wish to recall any memory registers that you previously saved to floppy disk, you need to
transfer them to a USB key via a PC with both a floppy disk drive and a free USB port.
Use the following procedure to copy memory files unto a USB key:
1. With your computer running, insert a USB key into an available USB port. It should
appear on your desktop as a removable storage device.
2. Insert the floppy disk containing the Synergy files you wish to copy into the floppy disk
drive of the PC.
3. Copy the files from the floppy disk to the root directory of the USB key.
4. Ensure that the light on the floppy disk drive is off, then eject the floppy disk.
5. Safely remove the USB key from the USB port.
This completes the procedure for copying Synergy files from a floppy disk to a USB key. You can
now use the USB key in your Synergy switcher. Refer to the section “
Working with Storage
Devices
” of the
Synergy 1 Operation Guide
for information on using a USB key with the switcher.
This completes the procedure for replacing the Synergy 1 floppy disk drive with a USB controller.
