1.1 FEATURES AND APPLICATIONS
Eight Sensor Inputs to a Single Analyzer
Allows up to eight input loops in any combination of the
following:
• Conductivity
•
Resistivity
•
Percent Concentration
•
Temperature
•
pH
•
ORP
Rosemount Analytical’s Model 2700 Solu Cube is
designed for multiparameter measurement in liquid ana-
lytical applications. The Solu Cube can have up to
eight inputs, in any combination of pH and conductivity
sensors. With model 2701 conductivity sensors, mea-
surement capabilities include resistivity, conductivity,
percent concentration, and temperature. Derived para-
meters include % passage/rejection, ratio, and differ-
ence. Only three cell constants are required to cover all
conductivity measurements. Recommended pH sen-
sors for the Solu Cube include Rosemount models
pH201, 300, 301, 328A, 389, 385, 396, 381+, 385+, and
396P. These sensors must be used with preamp J-BOX
P/N 23054-03.
The Solu Cube scans each sensor and delivers the
information as requested by the host. The sensors con-
vert an analog signal to digital and may be mounted up
to 1,000 feet from the analyzer. Cable attachments are
identical for all sensors and the sensors may be daisy-
chained to eliminate excessive cable runs.
Configuration, interrogation, testing and calibration are
all performed through the tactile-touch keypad. The
backlit LCD display enhances visibility in dimly lit areas
and provides menu-driven prompts that make program-
ming and obtaining information easy.
True DIN Size
The analyzer is true 1/4 DIN size and is suitable for
panel, surface, or pipe mounting. The unique panel
mounting clamps allow the instrument to be installed
bezel-to-bezel, vertically or horizontally.
RFI/EMI Standards, NEMA 4X, IP65 Enclosure.
The Solu Cube enclosure is designed to meet
NEMA 4X, IEC-529 IP-65 standards and the electrical
classification meet today’s stringent requirements for
EMI/RFI/ESD and EFT protection.
Backlit, Dot Matrix Display
The high resolution display provides a continuous read-
out of any two user selectable process variables. Soft
keys and descriptive language prompts allow rapid
selection of units of measure, measuring spans, alarm
setpoints, and displayed variables. Error messages dis-
played in descriptive language quickly guide you to
pinpoint fault and take corrective action. Alarm condi-
tions are identified by an alarm annunciator that flashes
on the main display. Whenever the fault relay activates,
an error key also flashes on the main display, and acti-
vating the soft key indicated, provides a complete diag-
nostic message.
Two levels of security are provided. Level one locks out
all unauthorized personal from usage, except to view
status and setpoints. Level two allows the operator to
configure and program the Solu Cube.
Option Dual Analog/Digital Outputs
The Solu Cube provides a choice of outputs for commu-
nication flexibility by supporting all major communica-
tion protocols. Conventional 4-20mA, RS485, RS232, or
a second 4-20mA output are available options. To meet
today’s digital requirements for real-time analysis, the
Solu Cube will communicate with devices such as DCS
systems, receivers and PC’s.
Analog Current/Voltage Outputs
An isolated analog current output is standard and may
be set at either 0-20mA or 4-20mA. Both the low and
high values may be set to any two values to allow either
direct or reverse measurement ranges. Also available
on the standard current output is the Auto Ranging fea-
ture which allows the analyzer to extend the range by a
factor of 10. The range alarm supplies a contact closure
to indicate the analyzer has changed range, which can
be turned off or on at the keypad.
A second 0/4-20mA isolated current output is optional
on the instrument.
In place of the standard current output, a 0-5 VDC iso-
lated output is available. The operation is similar to the
standard current operation.
Digital Outputs
The instrument comes with a RS485, non-isolated out-
put as standard. In addition, an isolated RS485 or an
isolated RS232 output is available when the standard
non-isolated output is not appropriate.
