Section 6. Service and Troubleshooting
No temperature or water level
reading Communication failure
• Check wiring.
• Check the 2240S Modbus communication address. See
the Raptor System Configuration Manual (Document
no. 300510EN) for more information on how to setup
the ATD Modbus address.
• Check configuration of the tank database in the 2410
Tank Hub.
• Check configuration of the FCU 2160 slave database.
Configuration
• Check that the 2240S is properly configured. See the
Raptor System Configuration Manual (Document no.
300510EN) for more information on how to use
TankMaster Winsetup for configuration of temperature
elements connected to the Rosemount 2240S.
Incorrect configuration of the 2160 Field
Communication Unit’s slave database
• Check the Modbus communication address in the 2160
FCU slave database. In TankMaster WinSetup open the
FCU Properties/Slave Database window.
• See the Raptor System Configuration Manual
(Document no. 300510EN) for more information on how
to configure the FCU 2160 slave database.
Incorrect configuration of 2410 tank
database
• Check the 2410 tank database; ensure that the device
is available and mapped to the right tank.
• 2410 tank database; check that the ATD Modbus
address is equal to the 2410 Temp Modbus address in
the FCU Slave Database.
• See the Raptor System Configuration Manual
(Document no. 300510EN) for more information on how
to configure the FCU 2160 slave database and the
2410 tank database.
Software or hardware failure
• Check diagnostics information, see “Diagnostics” on
page 6-4.
• Check Device Status input register, see “Device Status”
on page 6-15.
• Use the built-in temperature element simulator to check
the 2240S electronics, see “Test and Simulation” on
page 6-9.
• Replace malfunctioning temperature elements.
• Contact Emerson Process Management/Rosemount
TankGauging service department.
