Chapter 5. Parameter Guide
COSM GUITAR
By making settings for the various elements that make up the tone of a guitar, you can create a wide variety of sounds.
In addition to setting actual guitar parameters, such as pickup, body, and the pitch of each string, you can also emphasize the
overtone structure, or create sounds using polyphonic effects that process each string individually.
ON/OFF
Switches the COSM guitar on/off.
Selects the COSM guitar type.
VARI GT (variable guitar)
This algorithm lets you make settings for the pickup, body,
and the pitch of each string to specify the sound of the guitar.

ACOUSTIC (acoustic guitar)
This simulates the sound of an acoustic guitar.

(PAGE3)
NYLON STRINGS (nylon string guitar)
This is the sound of nylon strings.

(PAGE3)
OPEN TUNE (open tune guitar)
This allows you to create open tunings by modifying the
pitch of each string.
(PAGE2)
(PAGE3)
12STRINGS (12-string guitar)
This shifts the pitch of each string and adds it to the original
sound to simulate a 12-string guitar.
(PAGE2)
(PAGE3)
PD SHIFT (pedal pitch shift guitar)
This lets you use a pedal to change the pitch.
(PAGE2)
(PAGE3)
POLY DIST (polyphonic distortion guitar)
This independently distorts the sound of each string to create
a sound that can be used for chordal playing.
(PAGE2)
(PAGE3)
POLY COMP (polyphonic compressor guitar)
This applies a compressor to each string, providing sustain
for single-note playing and preventing the volume from
diminishing when chords are played.
(PAGE2)
(PAGE3)
POLY OCT (polyphonic octaver guitar)
This instrument simulates an octave playing technique.
(PAGE2)
(PAGE3)
POLY SG (polyphonic slow gear guitar)
This simulates a “violin-style” playing technique by fading-
in the volume.

BOWED
This Instrument represents stringed musical instruments
played with a bow.

(PAGE3)
DUAL
This Instrument takes the string vibration that is input and
adds both distortion and portions which have the pitch
glided.
