Placement
• Do not expose the unit to direct sunlight, place it near
devices that radiate heat, leave it inside an enclosed
vehicle, or otherwise subject it to temperature
extremes. Excessive heat can deform or discolor the
unit.
• Depending on the material and temperature of the
surface on which you place the stand, its rubber feet
may discolor or mar the surface.
You can place a piece of felt or cloth under the rubber
feet to prevent this from happening. If you do so,
please make sure that the stand will not slip or move
accidentally.
Maintenance
• For everyday cleaning wipe the stand with a soft,
dry cloth or one that has been slightly dampened
with water. To remove stubborn dirt, use a cloth
impregnated with a mild, non-abrasive detergent.
Afterwards, be sure to wipe the stand thoroughly with
a soft, dry cloth.
• Never use benzine, thinners, alcohol or solvents of
any kind, to avoid the possibility of discoloration and/
or deformation.

Do not disassemble or modify by yourself
Do not open or perform any internal
modifi cations on the stand.
Do not repair or replace parts by yourself
Do not attempt to repair the stand, or replace
parts within it (except when this manual provides
specifi c instructions directing you to do so).
Refer all servicing to your retailer, the nearest
Roland Service Center, or an authorized Roland
distributor, as listed on the “Information” page.
Do not use or store in the following types of locations
• Subject to temperature extremes (e.g.,
direct sunlight in an enclosed vehicle, near
a heating duct, on top of heat-generating
equipment); or are
• Damp (e.g., baths, washrooms, on wet
fl oors); or are
• Exposed to steam or smoke; or are
• Subject to salt exposure; or are
• Humid; or are
• Exposed to rain; or are
• Dusty or sandy; or are
• Subject to high levels of vibration and
shakiness.
Precautions regarding placement of this stand
Be sure to follow the instructions in the Owner’s
Manual carefully when placing this unit on a
stand.
If it is not set up properly, you risk creating an
unstable situation which could lead to the unit
falling or the stand toppling, and may result in
injury.
Do not place in an unstable location
Make sure you always have the stand placed so
it is level and sure to remain stable. Never place
it on stands that could wobble, or on inclined
surfaces.
WARNING
Adults must provide supervision in places where
children are present
When using the stand in locations where children
are present, be careful so no mishandling of the
stand can take place. An adult should always be
on hand to provide supervision and guidance.
Do not drop or subject to strong impact
Protect the stand from strong impact.

CAUTION
Use only stand manufactured by Roland
This stand for use only with specifi c Roland
musical instruments. Use with other models is
capable of resulting in instability causing possible
injury.
Evaluate safety issues before using stands
Even if you observe the cautions given in the
owner’s manual, certain types of handling may
allow the speaker to fall from the stand, or cause
the stand to overturn. Please be mindful of any
safety issues before using this stand.
Avoid climbing on top of the stand, or placing heavy
objects on it
Never climb on top of, nor place heavy objects
on the tripod.

NOTE
• Be careful so as not to drop the speaker when attaching or removing
it.
• Always have at least one other person assist you when mounting the
satellite speaker on ST-CMS1, or when adjusting the height of the
ST-CMS1 while the satellite speaker remains mounted on it.
• Be careful not to pinch your fi ngers, when you assemble.
1.
Fully extend the tripod.
* Be careful not to pinch your fi ngers when extending the tripod.
* Do not remove the tripod knob.
Extend it all the way to the ring
2.
Firmly tighten the tripod knob.
3.
Align the screw hole on the bottom of the speaker with the
screw threads of the upper pipe, then revolve the speaker to
fasten it in place.
Attach it using the speaker’s 5/8 inch hole.
If the speaker has a 3/8 inch hole, use the included adaptor to attach it.
4.
Loosen height adjustment knob and make upper tube longer.
5.
Once you have it at the desired height, fi rmly tighten the
height adjustment knob.
Caution Regarding Placement
As shown in the illustration below, position it so that the total height
(including the satellite speaker) does not exceed 120 cm.

NOTE
• If the ST-CMS1 is higher than 120 cm (including the satellite speaker),
or if the legs are not spread out, the ST-CMS1 and speaker may tip
over, causing injury or damage.
• When using ST-CMS1 to support the satellite speakers, do not place
them at unstable or inclined locations. You must place the ST-CMS1
on a stable and horizontal surface.
• Make sure to appropriately manage the cables connected to the
satellite speakers so as to prevent accidents, such as might be caused
by someone tripping over them.
• Using the supplied cable ties, secure the cables you’ve connected to
the ST-CMS1.
• To prevent the stand and speaker from tipping over, do not place
anything on a satellite speaker mounted on the ST-CMS1.
• After mounting a satellite speaker on the ST-CMS1, be sure to verify
that it does not wobble.
• Firmly tighten the hardware of the ST-CMS1 so that the satellite
speaker does not move to left or right.
• Be careful not to pinch your fi ngers when mounting the satellite
speaker.

CAUTION
Cautions when moving this unit
If you need to move the stand, take note of the
precautions listed below. It should be handled
carefully, all the while keeping it level. Make sure
to have a fi rm grip, to protect yourself from injury
and the instrument from damage.
• Check to make sure the knob of the stand
have not become loose. Fasten them
again securely whenever you notice any
loosening.
• Disconnect all cords coming from external
devices.
Take care not to get fi ngers pinched by tripod
Be careful so you don’t get your fi ngers pinched
when you handle any moving parts such as
the tripod. Adult supervision is recommended
whenever small children use the stand.
Keep small items out of the reach of children
To prevent accidental ingestion of the parts listed
below, always keep them out of the reach of
small children.
