Make sure that the sealing cord (insulating cord) is correctly
positioned on the kiln door to the kiln casing.
The sealing cord must evenly seal
the gap between the kiln door and
the housing.
8 Use the same adjustment procedure for the second door catch.

13.7. Adjusting the door hinge
For the door of the kiln to seal optimally, it may be necessary to readjust the door hinge on the kiln casing.

During the adjustment, the weight of the kiln door must be supported properly.
Step Action Remark
1 Switch off the kiln and let it cool down.
2 Open the kiln door.
3 Loosen the bolts (2x) of the upper door hinge on the kiln casing.
⇒ Loosen the bolts a maximum of half a turn to one turn.
Tool:

Spanner or socket wrench
• Allen key
Attention:
• The weight of the kiln door
must be supported properly.
• Never loosen the bolts of the
door hinge on the kiln door.

Valid for ELS 150-ELS 330:
Press the kiln door evenly against the kiln casing and align the kiln
door horizontally with the opening of the firing chamber. The door should rest evenly on the
kiln casing and seal the firing
chamber evenly all around.
4.2 Valid for ELS 480-ELS 1000:
There is also an adjusting screw on the side, which makes it easier
to adjust the horizontal setting on the heavy kiln doors of large-
volume kilns.
Tool:
Spanner or socket wrench
⇒ Loosen the locknut and screw
the adjustment screw in or out.
⇒ Tighten the locknut again.
