Invalid filename extension
The file extension is not valid for the required
operation.
Check the file extension.
For instance, the file extension for wave-
form list files is
*.wv
. It is not possible to
enter another file extension when storing
a list.

File contains invalid data
The selected file contains data that is not valid for
the file type.
The file extension determines the data that is valid
for this file type. If the file extension is changed,
the lists are no longer recognized and the data is
therefore invalid.
Example: the extension of a waveform file (=
*.wv
) was changed to
*.txt
Check the file extension.

Querying Error Messages
The R&S
SMBV100B monitors the functions performed and automatically detects
errors and irregularities. The instrument displays the messages in the "Info" line and
records them in the background with a detailed description.

1. In the taskbar, select the "System Config > Info".
2. For some messages, the information line appears briefly on the block diagram.
