Compensate signal mis-alignment:
Connect the instruments and distribute the synchronization signal and the refer-
ence frequency
1. With the default connector settings of the R&S
SMBV100B, connect the instru-
ments in one of the following ways:
a) In a
:
Figure 8-1: Example: Daisy chain connection for distributing the synchronization signal
(simplified)*
*
= I/Q, LAN etc. connections are not shown
Master
= Instrument acting as synchronization and trigger signal source
Salve
= One or more cascaded instruments, receiving (and forwarding) the synchroniza-
tion and trigger signal
Ref Out, Ref In = Reference frequency connectors
User x
= Synchronization and trigger signal connectors
RF
= Signal output
● Connect
User 5
connector of the master R&S
SMBV100B to
User 4
con-
nector of the first slave.
● Connect User 5 connector of the first slave to the User 4 connector of the
second slave, etc.
b) In a
:

fied)*
* = I/Q, LAN etc. connections are not shown
● Connect User 5 connector of the master R&S
SMBV100B to User 4 con-
nector of the slaves
● Route the synchronization signal Sync Out accordingly.
